It’s important to ensure Sentai is configured around a user’s normal daily routine, monitored, and tweaked if their routine changes. One part of that is when the day start and ends, so Sentai does not reach out at night.
Night mode
Between day end and day start Sentai runs in night mode. During night mode, Sentai will still respond to the wakeword, but the lights will switched off and no scheduled interactions will take place. Movement will be logged as night activity. So, it’s best to align day and and day start with the usual bedtime and wake-up times.
Wake-up and bedtime interactions
You can set time windows for Sentai to chat when the user is present at wake-up and bedtime. The outcome of these interactions is displayed in the app and in the dashboard.
To set day start and end in the app:
Go to Settings and then Wake-up & Bedtime, and you’ll see values for day start and day end.
Change these values to the time the user normally gets up, and goes to bed. Outside of these times Sentai will not reach out on its own.
You can optionally set Sentai to interact at wake-up and bedtime. Set the earliest and latest values for these conversations.
To set day start and end in the dashboard:
Carers who have access to the Sentai Pro Dashboard can also set wake-up and bedtime in the dashboard.
In the dashboard, go to go to Users in the left navigation.
Search for the user, or find the user in the list. Press the eye icon in the list to go to the relevant user.
In the user’s profile page, go to Settings and Wake-up and Bedtime interactions and night mode.
Set the values for when night mode starts and ends.
Optionally, switch on the toggles for wake-up and bedtime interactions, and enter the appropriate earliest and latest times for these interactions to happen.
