Sentai enables sending chat messages from and to the speaker, by converting voice to text, and text to voice. Carers and family can see these messages in the app, and carers who have access to the Sentai Pro Dashboard can also see messages in the dashboard.
Chat messages can be sent through the Sentai app or from the Sentai Pro Dashboard. They will be delivered to the speaker, and played once presence is sensed by the speaker. If there is no reply, Sentai will keep the message as undelivered and try again.
Go to chat in the primary navigation in the app.
Tap on the text field. You can type your message, or press the microphone button to dictate your message. This will confirm your speech to text.
Press the send button.
Speaker users can easily ask Sentai to send a message to a contact.
Say “Hi Sentai” and ask to send a message to the person you want to send the message to. Only carers or family members that have been set up in Sentai can be messaged. Sentai will transcribe the message and send it to the recipient. The recipient will receive a notification in the Sentai app. See also how to set up family and friends.
Carers who have access to the Sentai Pro Dashboard can also send chat messages from the dashboard.
Go to chat in the left navigation the dashboard.
Select the service user on the left, or search for a user. If chat is enabled at the organisation or location of the user, you will find the user and be able to send a chat message.
Type in the text field.
Press the arrow button to send.
